Ask a Producer -> Where's the feedback?
Just read an article in the AAF SmartBrief discussing the fact that some ad agencies were unhappy with the rfp process for marketers because of lack of feedback. I totally agree! We're asked to bid and/or audition everyday and we NEVER get agency feedback. I know it's not feasible every time but it would sure be helpful to know what we're doing wrong And what we get right. How else can we improve so you get what YOU and your client need/expect?

Ask a Producer -> What type of demo do you need for game projects?
Character voices actors have good - if not great - character demos. But how does that really help you - the game producer? How is a game audition different from other auditions? What do expect to hear? What materials do you need? How would you like to see a game demo put together?

Ask a Producer -> How do you thank a Producer?
So just how DO you thank a producer without looking like a total suckup?
Do you send a postcard or email when you get an audition? Do you send a small gift when you book a gig? Do you send a B-Day card or gift?
Producers, when does it cross the line? When do you start hitting delete, use file 13 or re-gift the unwanted item?

Ask a Producer -> What do you expect from a talent audition?
Okay, this one is directed to the producers.
1) How many demos do you want from an agent?
2) How many agents do you invite to your audition?
3) Do you cast regionally for local spots or do you always throw a national net?
4) When you send a :30 audition do you expect it to be read in :30?
5) Do you accept individual auditions from talent or do you prefer to use an agent? What's the percentage?
6) If there's no time for the talent to do the audition by your tight deadline will you accept the talent's commercial demo?

Ask a Producer -> When does too much talent marketing hurt?
Is there really such a thing as too much marketing? There can be if you become a nuisance by sending out too many postcards, emails, etc. to the producers. So what's a talent to do? Producers, help us out here. How many demos are appropriate for a talent to send? Or do you just want updates from agents? What about postcards, emails? How about gifts?

Ask a Producer -> What issues arise when hiring union talent?
You have a choice between union & non-union. Sometimes price isn't the only issue & voice quality is a major consideration but the headache of having to do an OPO or to Taft Hartley someone is a hassle. And then there's the issue of what to do when using an actor from a right to work state. What are the issues - good and bad - that have affected you & your decision to hire union vs. non-union?
